Virtual Manipulatives site was very impressive if you want to pay for use. Apparently you can use it as a trial which is cool but then you need to purchase access.
Interactive site was very detailed with standards alignment, and student prerequisits also detailed lessons.
Math playground site was very slow to load, but once loaded the Escape from fraction manor game was cool the entrance page had creepy sound, storm sounds in background and a statement on page that only math will set you free. Very cool.
E-learning for kids was nice with age related lessons.
My favorite would have to be the Math playground because if they can make math fun then that is the site for me and I am sure many math resistant students. Making it still educational but at least a little fun while doing it will keep kids interested in the challenge of trying to do better each time they try the exercises.

Webquests in Classroom
I feel this could be a valuable tool for students to work as a team on a project. I also feel a teacher could use this to create interesting visual aids for the digital natives, & screenagers to increase their interest in learning. So overall I think this could be a very effective educational tool.

Read write think site review
I reviewed the site read write think and found it useful for some worksheets. One example, KWL chart is a worksheet I already use in my classroom to assist the students that have reading comprehension problems. I have seen students improve through the use and the students also recognize the improvement.
There are numerous lesson plans available at all grade levels up to grade 12 with additional lesson plans related to the professional library. I could not find a cross-ciriculum lesson plan that incorporates horticulture along with math for example.

July 5 2011
I am a horticulture instructor in an adult male state correctional facility. My teaching philosophy incorporates much hands on, visual and kinesthetic learning, with a pragmatic approach. My students range from early twenties to early to mid seventies. This is a continuous struggle to develop and incorporate a variety of learning tools for all to have an equal opportunity to learn. The program runs on an open entry open exit system so all students work at their own pace and all are all on different chapters of three different texts at any given time.
I hope to learn from this course better ways to incorporate technology to enhance the program with all learners in mind. Additionally, with the limited amount of technology available within the prison setting.
Thank you for your time,
April Gromel
